East Midwood Jewish Center’s 91 years of history are visible in so many ways — such as our gorgeously ornamented building and families in the EMJC community for generations — but it’s rare to get to hear anything of that history. At our 90th anniversary celebration in December 2014, Cantor Sam Levine shared powerful and beautiful sounds of our past, recordings made of the late Rabbi Harry Halpern (pictured) and Cantor Joseph Eidelson during Rosh Hashanah, 1968.
