At many times in our lives we need an extra hand. Support may come from a spouse, an adult son or daughter, a friend or neighbor, or perhaps a home attendant. At other times in our lives, the role of caregiver for a loved one fell upon us. Some of us are caregivers right now. Caregiving can be difficult. Although the hours can be many, there is sometimes a shortage of recognition and appreciation.
Please join us on Friday evening, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 for our special Caregivers Shabbat. Here’s a chance to honor the people who care for others. Our Friday Shabbat-in-the-Round dinner will be a salute to their work. On Saturday, we’ll have a discussion and learning session that connects caregiving to Jewish texts and ideas.
Make plans now to invite the caregivers in your life. If you are a caregiver, here’s a moment for appreciation for what you do for others. On Saturday, participate in a conversation that we hope will offer insights and perhaps strength for the caregiving work ahead.
